A large first step
So we (VinnySC10) and my wife (Nickydoo1994) have decided to do another game jam.
Man vs Nature is the theme with a 14 day period to make it. So in the first two days she has worked hard on the art, which has not yet been implemented so don't hate on the art.
Feel free to hate on the programming though, that part is me.
So here is all I've done, this has been primarily with general searching of Godot's documentation when I get stuck as I'm trying not to follow any tutorials for this one.
-Buttons, lots of buttons and pretty much none of them are done. But they are there (even if you can't see them)
-The buttons that work have a temporary bubble hover effect to alert you to the fact they are buttons.
-Quote system, any night you sleep with a fire and don't die you get a quote that is semi-random.
-Wood, water and scrap. All three can be gained through actions in the day. With a warning that it is too late if attempted at night.
-There is a night and day, which makes the previous item actually make sense.
-Invented death.... well implemented one if you don't drink or eat in too long of a period. Eventually sleeping cold will also kill you, but for now it just insults you a little.
-Skills. If you do a task enough you gain XP and can level up that ability and naturally gain more when using those skills. This is not balanced at all or show any sign to indicate you leveled up. So I guess you'll have to trust me on that one?
-Sleep and day progression. You can sleep and move to the next day which is tracked. Other than for your own satisfaction the count does nothing at the moment.
-Fire needed during the day to distil a little water. I should probably make it more apparent but that's a tomorrow me problem.
-I just wanted to add one more because I feel like I did more and I honestly probably forgot one.
With all that said whole lot's left to do, like make the "fun" parts.
